--- # City of Lynwood Hosts Free Oil Filter Recycling Event Saturday, Mar 29 The City of Lynwood, in partnership with the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), will host a used oil filter recycling event on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at AutoZone (11833 Atlantic Ave). Residents who bring in a used oil filter can exchange it for a free replacement filter (while supplies last). The City encourages residents to take part in this environmentally significant event. Even a small amount of oil can contaminate large bodies of water, making proper disposal critical. Event details: - ID required: Attendees must provide identification to verify residency. - Voucher system: Upon recycling, residents will receive a voucher redeemable during event hours, while supplies last. - Additional recycling: Participants can also recycle up to five gallons of used motor oil alongside filters. “Residents can make a significant environmental impact by participating in this event,” said Mayor Rita Soto.“ Proper oil filter disposal prevents contamination of our water sources and helps build sustainable practices in our community.” This event offers a responsible solution for oil disposal while protecting the environment. **Spread the word** and invite friends and family to contribute to a cleaner, greener Lynwood.
