The City is grappling with a record-high deficit, the real possibility of widespread department layoffs, and consolidation or closure of essential services. These decisions will impact every corner of the city—and every resident. While the City budget may seem abstract to some, **the truth is simple: the budget equals services**. As taxpayers and stakeholders, we have a right to expect a certain quality of life—and when funding is cut, that quality of life is at stake. **Now is the time to show up and make your voice heard.** ### 🔹 What to Expect - **Breakfast served at 7:30 AM** in the City Hall 3rd floor rotunda - **Main program begins at 9:00 AM** in the City Council Chambers - **Breakout sessions** to discuss regional priorities and community impacts ### 🎤 Featured Speakers Include: - **Mayor Karen Bass** - **Matt Szabo**, City Administrative Officer - **Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky**, Chair, Budget & Finance Committee - **City Controller Kenneth Mejia** - **Rick Cole**, Chief Deputy Controller **Stephen Cheung**, CEO, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) And more to be announced This is the most significant and **high-powered lineup of Budget Day speakers in recent history**, convening at a time when the city’s fiscal future hangs in the balance. Neighborhood Councils are also expected to see steep cuts in funding. If you are a board member or stakeholder, your presence is vital to show that our communities are paying attention—and that we demand transparency, equity, and accountability in the decisions being made. ### 📌 Don’t Wait: - **Pre-registration and parking details will be available soon.** - **Spread the word:** Invite your neighbors, friends, and fellow stakeholders. Let’s fill City Hall with the voices of the people who make Los Angeles thrive. **Budget Day 2025 is not just an event—it’s a call to action.** Be there. ## Event Information [ ![Brian Goldsmith Vertical R.
