A work that blends classical music with jazz influences, *Rhapsody in Blue* remains one of America's most beloved concert pieces. Tao notes that its spirit of improvisation and spontaneity continues to make the work feel fresh and exciting for audiences today. The evening continues with **Marin Alsop** conducting **Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5**, one of the composer's most powerful and emotionally charged works. The program also includes **Anna Clyne's *Masquerade***, a lively orchestral showpiece inspired by the spirit of the English music hall, described by *The Berkshire Eagle* as "a noisily delightful aperitif."
