GUEST COMMENTARY--There were potent [responses](https://www.commondreams.org/news/2019/01/09/corporate-media-condemned-handing-trump-megaphone-spout-racist-stream-lies) aplenty to last night's "stream of lies" and "racist pablum" oozing from a once-sacrosanct Oval Office - Ocasio-Cortez: "What we are [seeing ](https://www.commondreams.org/news/2019/01/09/highlighting-systematic-violation-international-human-rights-ocasio-cortez-shreds)right now is death" - but we'll add one roof-raising amen from the Blackish-star Jenifer Lewis, Brandy and Roz Ryan.
Their fiery [version](https://www.facebook.com/JeniferLewisForReal/videos/vb.171359596265810/227718058158895/?type=2&theater) of "In These Streets" was[ released](https://www.essence.com/celebrity/brandy-jenifer-lewis-roz-ryan-protest-version-these-streets/) two years ago to honor Martin Luther King Day and protest Trump's taking office with his first spewing of vitriol about needing to wall out black and brown folks.
Lewis has [been](https://www.facebook.com/JeniferLewisForReal/videos/vb.171359596265810/227718058158895/?type=2&theater) here before, offering other outraged [hymns](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8DjjvLsioY) to resistance: "They elected who?!?"
This time, the three women share a quote from Nina Simone - "An artist's duty is to reflect the times" - before launching into their fierce call to take to the streets, more resonant than ever.
“Fifty million of us will march down south and we will tear down that wall,” they sing. “Fifty million of us will do what we have to keep our people free.”
