Councilman Bonin Explains Why (Video) February 21 2019 Written by Mike Bonin. [](https://www.addtoany.com/share) **JOBS AND ENVIRONMENT PACKAGE (VIDEO)-**The City Council Voted unanimously this week to officially support the ambitious and necessary goals of the #GreenNewDeal. The Green New Deal is an ambitious approach to making the changes necessary to stop clime change from irreparably harming our environment. It is also a jobs program that will lift up and recreate the American middle Class, giving working families the same opportunity, hope, and optimism that FDR’s new deal game those fighting to survive the Great Depression. And focuses on equity recognizing that institutional racism has helped create this mess and that the first in line to benefit from doing the work that must be done should be the people most severely harmed by pollution and corporate neglect. LA has been leading the way toward the sustainable future for years. *(Read the rest and see councilman Bonin’s video [here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNT06v_ptE4))* -cw [ ![usa radio musem](https://ded2209.inmotionhosting.com/~citywa9/images/banners/usaradiomuseum-wide.jpg) ](https://ded2209.inmotionhosting.com/~citywa9/component/banners/click/116 "USA Radio Museum - Wide") [ ![Brian Goldsmith Vertical R.
