RANTZ & RAVEZ - Election time is fast approaching and you need to wake up to reality if you are Sick and Tired of seeing Los Angeles fall deeper into the Pits of Neglect, Decay, Homelessness and lack of adequate resources to address the mounting issues impacting neighborhoods throughout most if not all communities of sprawling Los Angeles.  Resources like Police, Fire, Paramedic, Street Repaving, the collection of trash and a host of other negatives impacting most neighborhoods.  Like other American Cities that are failing to deliver Public Safety and a Quality of Life to the hard-working Tax Payers who are struggling to pay for Transportation, Food, Lodging and a host of other necessary expenses associated with living in a city, county and state that is taking our hard earned Tax Dollars and squandering them on everything other than what we all need and expect as residents and Tax payers in Los Angeles and the State of California.

The Mayor and Los Angeles City Council are engaged in the governance of all city operations.  While the elected 15 councilmembers all represent individual neighborhoods and communities, they should all be working together to better all Los Angeles neighborhoods.  Unfortunately, they don’t all work together for the betterment of Los Angeles.  This has been the case for a long time.  There are always exceptions to the rule, and I will focus on the individuals in a future RantZ and RaveZ prior to the election.

While there is going to be an open council seat in the 3rd district in the San Fernando Valley, I have a recommendation for that seat.  I held the seat for 12 years and termed out.  Councilman Bob Blumenfield became the councilmember and has done a Great job handling the complex issues not only in the district but throughout the city.

MY ENDORSEMENT

The candidate running for the 3rd District seat that I am endorsing is Tim Gaspar.  I have known Tim for many years and serve with him on community organization boards. Tim is highly qualified for the 3rd District Council seat, and I encourage you to vote for him on June 2nd.  Tim has history as a very successful businessman and knows how to run a business.  His experience will benefit the city council and residents not only the 3rd District but all of Los Angeles.  Vote for Tim and we can all Win!

TECHNOLOGY AND SPEED ENFORCEMENT ON LOCAL STREETS

The Los Angeles City Council voted to install over 100 “speed cameras” on city streets throughout Los Angeles.  The cameras will be installed at locations where motorists usually exceed the posted speed limits.  There will be a 60-90 day warning period.  First time violators will receive a warning.  The cameras will be installed throughout Los Angeles where speeding and crashes happen most often and where there are concentrations of children, seniors, and other hazards.  For those of you who don’t have a front license plate, the cameras will take the photo from the rear plate.  The law does require both a front and rear plate on all vehicles including Tesla and BMW.  11 miles over the posted limit will get you a citation.  Fine only and it does not appear on your record.  The fine increases along the speed you are traveling.

SUMMER CONCERT

After months filled with stress and anxiety, it is time to relax and enjoy the 2026 annual summer concert series at Warner Center Park.  The park is located on Topanga Canyon just north of the Ventura Freeway.  Get there early for FREE parking.  Paid parking is available.

From June 14th thru August 23 visit the park and enjoy 12 weeks of FREE great music.  All great Tribute bands perform for your pleasure.  Bring food and non-alcoholic beverage and sit on the grass and enjoy the afternoon.  A great way to end one week and start the next.

That’s it for this edition of RantZ and RaveZ.
