WELLNESS - This episode of the Share Life podcast, ["Navigating Refuge Seeking and Emotional Resilience,"](https://www.jasonscottmontoya.com/personal/development/735-refuge-seeking-emotional-resilience) explores the concept of [refuge seeking, initially observed in journalistic practices by Arthur L. Carter,](https://pressthink.org/2020/11/the-coming-confrontation-between-the-american-press-and-the-republican-party/) and its broader implications for personal growth and societal interaction.
The discussion, featuring [Jason Scott Montoya (Thought Leader),](https://www.jasonscottmontoya.com/about) [Ivan Alfaro (Affordable Housing Developer)](http://www.commonwalk.com/), and [Jim Karwisch (Personal Development Coach)](https://www.untanglednarrative.com/), delves into how the reflexive tendency to seek refuge, often to avoid criticism or uncomfortable truths, can hinder personal development. They connect this idea to the importance of emotional resilience, arguing that a commitment to truth-seeking requires the ability to withstand criticism and engage with difficult emotions.
The conversation highlights the significance of healing, reflection, and even regret as catalysts for change, emphasizing the need to balance seeking refuge with taking responsibility and fostering emotional awareness.
