**CITYWATCH TODAY**--The monsters in power have marked another 9/11 anniversary with their usual grace and gravitas. Trump [whined ](https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1171758531449643008)about the polls and the press, [lied ](http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/trump-adds-his-record-problematic-911-claims)once againabout the bigly amount of rubble he heroically cleaned up that day, and [boasted ](https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1171733174101131264?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1171733174101131264&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.huffpost.com%2Fentry%2Fdonald-trump-9-11-tweet-backlash_n_5d78cec2e4b09342507c5a2e)about me me me lookit me because, nah, who's insecure? *(Photo above: Mourning at today's 9/11 ceremony. His smarmy sycophant Rudy Giuliani, completing his slow ugly mutation from America's Mayor to Fascism's Mayor, [posted](https://twitter.com/RudyGiuliani/status/1171663086178185217?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1171663086178185217&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdigbysblog.blogspot.com%2F) a creepy, ghastly, deranged video - [stolen](https://www.commondreams.org/further/2019/09/11/%20https:/www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/9/11/20860924/rudy-giuliani-9-11-tweet-grunt-style%20textbook%20fascism,%20based%20on%20a%20clothing%20ad%20yet) from a clothing ad, yet - celebrating riot police brutality against Americans exercising their Constitutional right to protest, because what better way for a sociopath to mark a day of mourning and solemn remembrance than sending out a hysterical message of violence, division and fear?
Appalled academics said the video, with its stark visuals and insinuation that the dangers facing us are ourselves legally dissenting, reeked of[ textbook fascism.](https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/9/11/20860924/rudy-giuliani-9-11-tweet-grunt-style%20textbook%20fascism,%20based%20on%20a%20clothing%20ad%20yet) *(Photo left by Alex Fuchs/AP)
One expert on fascism carefully, valiantly tried not to use the term, but[ came ](https://www.commondreams.org/further/2019/09/11/%20%20https:/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/rudy-giuliani-911-video-police-protestors-trump-hitler-a9101586.html)perilously close, especially when he noted it "contains all sorts of rhetorical devices that Hitler loved to use in his orations.” Instead, he settled for [calling ](https://www.commondreams.org/further/2019/09/11/%20%20https:/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/rudy-giuliani-911-video-police-protestors-trump-hitler-a9101586.html)the florid display "truly evil" and "a pernicious piece of propaganda," which made us feel way better.
Twitter, likewise [horrified](https://www.commondreams.org/further/2019/09/11/%20https:/god.dailydot.com/rudy-giuliani-fascist-9-11-ad/) by Rudy's Machiavellian routine, [paraphrased ](https://twitter.com/RudyGiuliani/status/1171663086178185217)with, "What the fuck, dude?"
The video ended with the message, "This We'll Defend." Damn straight: We'll defend our right and moral duty to remove these sick cretins from our national discourse.
