New York’s Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) Dictates Los Angeles Policy

THE VIEW FROM HERE - On Monday, October 26, 2026, the DSA’s National Political Committee issued an ultimatum to Nithya Raman that she had to accept the anti-Semitic BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions against Israel) by Saturday, October 31, 2026 and that she make it fundamental policy for the City of Los Angeles.  BDS requires that the institutions like businesses, colleges, non-profits and cities such as Los Angeles stop buying goods from Israel or from international companies tied to Israeli policies, as well as avoiding academic, cultural, and sports exchanges with Israel.  The city of Los Angeles has between 560,000 to over 600,000 Jews.

In reversing her prior ambiguous statement about BDS, Nithya Raman fully adopted the anti-Semitic official policy.  Raman’s exact words were:

"I believe the best way for working Angelenos to stand in solidarity with Gaza is through non-violent protest, legislative action, and diplomatic pressure, including BDS."

In other words, Raman has officially agreed to use her position of mayor, if she wins, to have the city of Los Angeles to refuse to have any dealings with Israel and any businesses who have business or cultural relationships with Israel.  The DSA will be certain to follow-up, if Raman is mayor, and make certain to make further demands when it thinks that the City of Los Angeles is not fully honoring this total boycott of any relationship with Israel.

The LA City Council already has four DSA endorsed members and they too will be placed under the same pressure to turn against Israel and against Jewish Angelenos and any other LA business, school, or person who does not likewise boycott Israel. The DSA city councilmembers are:

Eunisses Hernandez (District 1) – Endorsed by DSA-LA and active within the city council's progressive/socialist bloc.

Nithya Raman (District 4) – A dues-paying member of the DSA and the first DSA-backed candidate elected to the LA City Council,

Hugo Soto-Martínez (District 13) – A longtime DSA member and organizer endorsed by DSA-LA.

Ysabel J. Jurado (District 14) – Supported and aligned with DSA-LA on the council.

Other official policies of the national DSA are as set forth in its July 2026 Workers Deserve More.

1) Revocation of the US Constitution including the Bills of Rights (freedom of speech, assembly, religion, press, petition the government.)

2) Abolish the US Senate so that Congress has only the House of Representative where membership is based on group victimhood. Under a strict reading of DSA policy, neither Whites nor Jews will have any representation since they are classified as oppressors.

3) The courts are subject to the dictates of the new Congress so that the courts have no power to reject any law passed by the DSA Congress.  With no freedom of speech, assembly, religion or right to petition the government, all these freedoms may be criminalized.

4) Full voting rights to non-citizens and open immigration. (And we thought that Humpty Dumpty Trumpy was delusional about this point.)

4) Abolish police and prisons:  Charles Manson, Richard Ramirez, and Jeffrey Dahmer, etc. would be free to murder, rape, and eat people.

People Naively Say, “Oh, it Won’t Be That Bad.”

Who can guarantee that Hasan Piker will not become a major advisor to Raman?  After all, his support is why Raman came in #2 in the June primary.  The policy requires that any Jewish person in government be subjected to strict scrutiny in case he/she violates the BDS law by having any relationship with Israel or whether any organization has dealings with Israel.  When one believes the debunked lies that we Jews commit genocide, how long before more DSA sympathizers do not increase attacks on LA Jews?

Raman already is pushing the lie that she has the power to fire the police chief despite the fact that the City Charter does not give her that power.  How many non-DSA councilmembers will be subject to violent intimidation as happened to Congressman Bill Smith until he changed his position and voted against Israel.\

For those who think DSA dictating policy to Nithya Raman is an aberration, Abul el-Sayed, just had Minnesota’s Dem. Haley Stevens disinvited from a service at a Black Church where civil rights icon would appear. Why? Rep.  Haley Steven’s objected to the anti-Semitic advertisement for El-Sayed that Jews are responsible for higher prices in grocery stores.  Haley Stevens is still a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.  But when it came to standing up for the rights of another member of the House, Michigan Congresswoman Debbie Dingell succumbed to El-Sayed’s demands and disinvited Rep. Haley Stevens, on the grounds that Stevens’s objection to anti-Jewish advertisement was "way too distracting" for a sacred Sunday church service.  Blatant anti-Semitism against American Jews was OK for a sacred Sunday church, but objecting to anti-Semitism was too offensive to allow Rep. Stevens to appear.  (At least when the cowardly GOP surrendered to Trump, he had already been elected.)

Under Mayor Nithya Raman, How Soon Will Los Angeles Jews No Longer Be Welcome?

Please notice that not only did Dem leader Debbie Dingell 86 Rep. Stevens, but the church allowed the interfaith civil rights meeting supporting DSA to continue and the icon Rep. Clyburn likewise attended.  Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Representative Debbie Dingell, and Maryland Senator Angela Alsobrooks, alongside Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield and local bishops also attended.

Angelenos should acquaint themselves with Germany’s Martin Niemöller .

This election is not between DEMs and GOP, but between the Extremists and Centrists.  Both Wokeism and MAGA are fatal to civil society.
